Verkhovna Rada Committee supported the extension of martial law

On May 7, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence approved the extension of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for 90 days.

According to MP Zhelezniak, on May 8, the Verkhovna Rada should also approve the decision with its vote.

The martial law will continue until August 11, 2024. Zhelezniak noted that this will be the 11th decision on martial law and general mobilization since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On February 6, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the extension of martial law and general mobilization until May 13, 2024.
