Russian court sentences Ukrainian journalist to 14 Years in prison in abestia trial

On Tuesday, the Moscow military court has sentenced Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Gordon to 14 years in prison in absentia.
The court found the journalist guilty of what its verdict called “public calls for terrorism, spreading military ‘fakes’, and inciting hatred or enmity for his calls for nuclear strikes on Russia and the assassination of the presidents of Russia and Belarus.”
Dmytro Gordon’s scathing criticism of Feb.24 invasion landed him on Russia’s register of “extremists and terrorists.”
After the Russian internal ministry put him on a wanted list, the Basmanny district court soon issued a warrant for his arrest.
Gordon isn’t the only one in the hot seat. Oleksiy Honcharenko, a Ukrainian MP of “European Solidarity’ party, also found himself on the wrong side of Russian justice – on June 18, he was handed down a 10-year prison sentence in absentia.
