Moscow calls its morning strikes in Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih retaliation

Sources: Russia’s defense ministry

Hitting a children’s hospital in Kyiv was an act of ‘vengence’, said Russia’s defense ministry on Monday following its deadly strikes that killed at least 31 people and left over 150 more injured.

“In the early morning hours, in response to attempts to damage Russian energy and economic targets, a coordinated strike was carried out on Ukraine’s military industrial facilities and Ukrainian Armed Forces’ aviation bases. The objectives of the strike were successfully achieved,” said  its statement on social media.

In a blame-shifting attempt, Russian officials accused ‘hysterical’ Kyiv of warmongering arguing that the tragic deaths of the civilians in Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih  and other cities had been the “result of Ukraine’s air defenes work”.
