On March 28, Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin reported on the current results of the investigation of the Russian war crimes and the prosecution of the guilty.

As of today, more than 124,000 Russian war crimes have been documented. They led to the damage or destruction of more than 150,000 civilian objects. These are mainly residential houses, critical infrastructure, energy facilities, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, cultural and religious institutions.

At the same time, it is currently difficult to fully assess Russian war crimes, since part of the territory remains occupied.

Kostin noted that Ukraine is the first in the world to investigate crimes against the environment and cyber attacks as war crimes.

‘Crimes involving human suffering are the highest priority for investigations – murder, wounding, torture, sexual violence, kidnapping and forced deportation of children and adults,’ the Prosecutor General stated.
