During the first three months of 2024, Ukraine implemented 54 NATO military standards in the defense and security sector.

These standards include operation of weapons and military equipment, safety of storage of ammunition and explosives, management of troops, use of communication and information systems, as well as standards regarding the quality of goods, engineering, aviation and medical support.

‘The introduction of these standards increases the effectiveness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,’ said deputy defense minister Ivan havryliuk.

He added that 8 of the implemented standards are stipulated by the Ukraine-NATO partnership goals.

‘Currently, of the 219 recommended NATO standards, Ukraine has already implemented 190 (another 128 standards have been implemented on Ukraine’s initiative),’ the deputy minister explained.

The main function of the NATO standards is the interoperability of the Armed Forces. This goal is enshrined in the Charter on a special partnership between Ukraine and NATO.
