The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, made a statement regarding another Russian war crime — the shooting of captured Ukrainian servicemen in Kherson region.
The ombudsman noted that social networks were shaken by another video of the shooting of the captured Ukrainian military by Russians.
Currently, it is not known exactly when and where the crime was committed.
According to the preliminary information, it happened near the village of Krynky in Kherson region. In the video, Russians deliberately shot three unarmed Ukrainian soldiers who were lying in a ditch.
Lubinets emphasized that the killing of prisoners of war is a flagrant violation of the Geneva Convention. He added that such cases are a systematic practice of the Russian military.
‘Regarding another violation of the norms of the international humanitarian law by the Russian Federation, I immediately sent official letters to the UN and the ICRC, so that the organizations document this fact. This should become the evidence for the criminal tribunal,’ the ombudsman stressed.

This is the second stabilization point established under the Steel Front initiative in cooperation with the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new facility, funded by Metinvest with an investment of UAH 21 million, is more secure than the first one thanks to its deeper location underground (over 6 meters) and additional fortifications.
