Ukraine brings back 12 children from Russia-occupied regions,- officials

Ukraine has brought back 12 children from the occupied regions of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson according to human rights’ ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.

The families revealed their children had faced as Russian officials had wanted the children to get Russian passports threatening they would be stripped of benefits and denied medical assistance.

Dmytro Lubinets said,  “Doctors refuse to provide care to children with malformations while those needed specialized care. Instead, parents are offered to send their children for ‘rehabilitation’ but it often ends up in deportation or forced relocation. Some children have to attend ‘Russian schools’ and deal with active propaganda for the ‘Russian world.'”

The children recounted the stories of arrests and abuses in occupied regions where people deal with unwarranted searches and interogations.
