On Frinday, Ukraine’s internal ministry has launched specialized training courses for driving test examiners so they could work with individuals with disabilities.

The ministry has developed a focused curriculum, which includes:

  • psychological communication techniques for interacting with people with disabilities and managing crisis situations;
  • legislation on road safety, incorporating European standards;
  • preparing candidates with disabilities for exams, with a focus on ensuring their comfort and safety.

It is clear that the course is tailored for many of retired Ukrainian servicemen who return from the frontlines with disablities and injuries.

“This special course allows examiners not only to objectively assess the skills of candidates but also to consider their individual needs. This is a significant step toward creating a barrier-free environment. We are confident that these changes will positively impact the quality of driver training, and consequently, road safety,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko, Ukaine’s internal affairs deputy minister.
