Ukrainians support broadcast of Verkhovna Rada sessions, – poll results

The majority of Ukrainians (about 65%) believe that journalists should have access to the sessions of the Verkhovna Rada even during the martial law. More than 57% of citizens support the idea of online broadcasting on the Rada TV channel.

According to the survey results, 11% of Ukrainians do not agree with the idea of journalists’ access to the sessions, while about 14% disagree with the need for broadcasts. It is worth noting that the positions of citizens of all regions are almost the same on these issues.

Due to the martial law, access to the parliament premises is difficult for journalists, and the TV channel Rada stopped live broadcasts of the sessions. It is noted that these restrictions are justified by security risks. With all that, information about the time and progress of sessions becomes known through publications and broadcasts of MPs on social networks.

Most of the time, the sessions of the parliament take place behind closed doors.
