DBR arrests property controlled by Ihor Hrynkevych

The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) informs that they have arrested the property of the family and companies controlled by Ihor Hrynkevych.
As part of the investigation, the law enforcement conducted searches at the businessmen’s residential and work addresses, as well as the residential addresses of directors and offices of companies controlled by him.
The DBR also arrested real estate, premium vehicles owned by the businessman’s family, as well as property and accounts of companies controlled by Hrynkevych.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Corruption scandal with the Hrynkevych family. What is known?
Businessman Ihor Hrynkevych was among the largest supplier of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. At the end of December, he was arrested for trying to bribe one of the heads of the State Bureau of Investigation, to whom he offered a bribe of $500,000.
According to the law enforcement, Ihor Hrynkevych tried to return the property seized from the companies under his control as part of the investigation of a criminal case with the help of a bribe.
The criminal case was opened a few months ago in connection with the procurement of clothing and underwear for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 23 of his companies won bidding of the Ministry of Defense for a total of 1.5 billion hryvnias.
According to the investigation, the bidding for the supply of clothing was won by companies that were previously engaged in construction and did not have the production capacity to manufacture and store items needed by the Ministry of Defense.
As a result, Hrynkevych’s companies did not fulfill the terms of 6 contracts, and at least 7 contracts were partially fulfilled.
At the same time, the businessman’s company received funds from the Ministry of Defense in full.
In addition, according to 8 agreements, Hrynkevych’s companies fulfilled the conditions several months late.
The non-fulfillment of the terms of the contracts led to disruption of the supply of clothes and losses in the amount of 1.2 billion hryvnias of budget funds.
