DTEK reveals three reasons that helped Ukraine ease power restrictions

Energy customers are taking a breather in Ukraine after the country’s grid operator has paused scheduled power outages across the country.
In its statement on Wednesday, Ukraine’s largest private company DTEK has revealed three key factors that allowed to ease power restrictions.
First of all, the heat wave is over and it has helped the hobbled electricity grid – it didn’t generate enough energy to meet hot summer demand. Another good thing is that two nuclear power units came back online after maintenance. In addition, Ukraine is now importing more energy from the European Union.
DTEK though cautions it doesn’t mean the energy issues are resolved as the situation can change if Russia resumes its attacks.
On Tuesday, Ukrenergo, confirmed it will implement no power outages on July 31. It also urged households and business to limit energy usage from 11am till 3pm.
