The long-awaited delivery of F-16 fighter jets from NATO allies has arrived in Ukraine, Bloomberg reports.
According to sources, the delivery of the American military aircraft met the deadline set for the end of this month. The sources claimed that the number of aircraft in this initial delivery is “small”.
It remains unclear if Ukrainian pilots, who are fresh from their training at Western air bases, will be operate them in the upcoming weeks or their sorties can be delayed.
Ukraine’s defense ministry is still tight-lipped about the arrival of the jets.
It is worth noting that earlier this month U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the jets pledged by Denmark and the Netherlands were ‘coming’ to Ukraine underway.
