Massive Russian missile strikes target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

In the early hours of December 13, Russian forces launched a large-scale missile assault across Ukraine, aiming its energy facilities. The strikes have forced Ukraine’s power grid operator rewrite its power outage schedules.
Ukraine’s energy minister Herman Halushchenko assured that energy workers are taking all possible measures to mitigate the impact on the national grid. Damage assessments will begin as soon as the security situation allows.
Meanwhile, Ukrenergo reported that the attacks on critical energy sites would lead to expanded electricity cutoffs. Residents should brace for prolonged outages as emergency crews address the damage.
