Ukraine has recorded an alarming 80% increase in reported cases of domestic violence compared to last year, with 8,185 criminal offenses filed. At least 5,000 people have suffered, the majority being women and children.
Iryna Shurkhno from the Office of the Prosecutor General said the ongoing war may be exacerbating the issue, but the surge in reports also reflects growing trust in law enforcement.
Authorities are collaborating with state services and non-governmental organizations to provide comprehensive support to victims, including medical, psychological, and legal assistance, as well as temporary shelters.
However, many victims still refrain from seeking help, perceiving domestic violence as a private matter. Officials warn that concealing such incidents can lead to more severe consequences, and urge those experiencing domestic violence to contact the police or call specialized hotlines.

Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value.
