As cold season approaches, Ukraine might face significant power supply challenges, with potential blackouts lasting between 12 to 20 hours a day, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation.

Energy analyst Yuri Korolchuk of Energy Strategies Institute revealed two possible scenarios for Ukraine’s energy sector this winter. The more optimistic outlook envisions the stable operation of 8-9 nuclear reactors and a mild winter, allowing for the restoration of around 3 GW of damaged capacity. In this case, daily power outages could be limited to 12 hours.

By contrast,  the worst case scenario sees the restoration of only 2000 MW and operation of 6-7 reactors, which can make things hard for Ukrainian if a harsh winter factors in.  If Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the country could end up with blackouts potentially lasting up to 20 hours a day.

Earlier this week, Ukrainian lawmaker Serhiy Nagornyak warned that this winter Ukrainians might expect electricity for 12-14 hours a day if freezing temperatures go down to -10°C.

In just 1.5 months, Ukrainian specialists have created an innovative protective shell for the control modules of anti-aircraft missile systems (AMS) Patriot and Iris-T SLM. This development was another step in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, aimed at protecting key elements of the air defense system from debris damage.

Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
