Kyiv commemorates Heavenly Hundred: Bukvy photo report

On February 20, a ceremony commemorating the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and participants of the Revolution of Dignity was held in the center of Kyiv.

The commemorative event began with the performance of the national anthem. Then, an inter-denominational memorial service with the ‘Prayer for Ukraine’ was held.

Citizens put flowers to the memorial and portraits of the Heavenly Hundred.

February 20 is the day when Ukraine honors the memory of the people who gave their lives for the freedom of the country.

The events of February 20, 2014 became the culmination of the entire Revolution. The memory of the feat of the Heavenly Hundred is commemorated under the slogan ‘Grateful for freedom!’

Among the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, there are citizens of Ukraine, Belarus, and Georgia. The youngest Hero Nazarii Voitovych was 17 years old, and the oldest – Ivan Nakonechnyi – 82.
