Japan to continue support of Ukraine’s health care system

According to the results of the meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Japan in Ukraine and the head of the Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), it became known that Japan will continue to systematically support the medical sphere of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the continuation of cooperation in terms of the development of medical infrastructure and strengthening of Ukraine’s ability to provide medical assistance.

Minister Viktor Lyashko noted that Japan is one of the most reliable and consistent partners of Ukraine in the fight against terrorist Russia.

For more than two years of full-scale war, Japan has already provided Ukraine with financial support of more than 12 billion dollars, including for the medical sector.

Japan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori emphasized that supporting the health care sector is and will be one of the priority directions for the Japanese government – not only during the war, but also after it ends.

Earlier, it was reported that Japan allocated USD 118 million to health care and reconstruction of Ukraine.
