Ukrainian book received Swedish Peter Pan Prize

The book ‘Maya and her mothers’ by Ukrainian writer Larysa Denysenko was awarded the silver star of the Peter Pan Prize.
The book, which was translated into the Swedish language, tells the stories of different Ukrainian families.
According to the writer, her book won the Silver Star in 2023, but she found out about it and received it only now. Larysa Denysenko noted that the funds from the sale of the Swedish edition are directed to support Ukrainian children.
‘Maya and her mothers’ is a picture book created by Larysa Denysenko in collaboration with illustrator Maria Foya. It was published in Ukraine in the spring of 2017.
In 2022, the book was published in Great Britain and became a bestseller in Ireland. In Sweden, the book was published by the publishing house ‘Bonnier Carlsen’.
