The Ukrainian army has stopped the advance of the Russian troops in the Kharkiv direction and has begun counteroffensive actions.

According to Prokhorenko, the situation at the front is difficult. Currently, the main combat actions are taking place in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.

‘As for the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is conducting offensive operations with the aim of creating a buffer zone. Currently, the enemy has been stopped, the situation is under control, and counter-offensive actions are being carried out,’ the representative stated.

The Russian military is carrying out offensive actions in the eastern part of Kharkiv region with the aim of bypassing Kupiansk, but they are not succeeding. In general, grueling battles continue along the entire front line.

Prokhorenko also admitted that the Russian army is gathering troops near the border with Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

However, the Defense Forces are aware of the enemy’s plans. Measures are being taken to allocate reserves and means of fire damage in order to seize the initiative on the battlefield.

Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest Group has completed the construction of an upgraded underground NATO Role 2 hospital in one of the hottest sectors of the frontline. This is the second stabilization point established under the Steel Front initiative in cooperation with the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new facility, funded by Metinvest with an investment of UAH 21 million, is more secure than the first one thanks to its deeper location underground (over 6 meters) and additional fortifications.
