The Philippines to take part in the Global Peace Summit

President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to the Philippines for the participation in the Global Peace Summit, calling it a ‘very strong signal’.

Zelensky arrived in the Philippines and met with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the first time in the history of bilateral relations.

The head of the Ukrainian state thanked the Philippines for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, for its clear position on Russia’s aggression, as well as for supporting important UN resolutions.

During the meeting, the parties discussed, in particular, the inaugural Global Peace Summit and the importance of the representation of Southeast Asian countries at it.

The parties also discussed bilateral cooperation, in particular the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the Philippines.
