SBU detained a Russian agent in Khmelnytskyi

The SBU counter-intelligence detained an official of the Khmelnytskyi city council, who started working with the Russian FSB.

The detainee is the head of one of the departments of the Khmelnytskyi City Council. He collected intelligence on the deployment points and places of residence of Ukrainian servicemen in the region.

In addition, the agent tried to find out the location of the UAV production sites.

The Russians planned to use the received information  to pinpoint missile attacks on the city and the region.

The investigation revealed that the detainee became the FSB agent when he studied in Moscow in the 1990s.

The Security Service continues investigation into the case. The man may face life imprisonment under the article of high treason.
