The Verkhovna Rada has adopted draft law # 9559-d and allowed local councils to finance the units of the defense forces.

In addition, local councils again received the right to regulate the procedure for remote meetings and personnel issues during the period of martial law.

The draft law was adopted by 303 votes. It makes amendments to the laws on local self-governing and on the prevention of corruption.

Local authorities will be able to approve local budgets and make changes to them; adopt programs of socio-economic and cultural development; adopt target programs on other issues of local self-government; and will have the right to transfer funds.

The document also regulates the procedure for conducting remote meetings of local self-government bodies, which allows continuing work even in conditions of limited physical access to meeting places.
