147 combat clashes recorded in the last 24 hours, – Ukraine’s General Staff

At least 147 clashes have been reported along the front lines in the past 24 hours, according to the Ukrainian General Staff.

Updated reports show that the enemy launched three rocket attacks, 61 air strikes with 98 precision-guided bombs and 1,009 kamikaze drone attacks. There were also 4,366 artillery strikes, including 98 from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), targeting military positions and civilian areas.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces “effectively hit back”, destroying two enemy command posts, one artillery system, two air defence systems and 16 areas of “enemy troop concentration”.

In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy conducted “active operations” – there were eight clashes near Vovchansk, Starytsia and Lyptsi. In the Kupiansk sector, my forces attacked Ukrainian positions ten times. The defenders successfully repulsed attacks near Berestove, Pishchane and Synkivka.

In Lyman, seventeen attacks were thwarted in the areas of Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka in the Luhansk region and Terny in the Donetsk region. In the Siversk sector, defenders repelled seven enemy attacks near Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Vyiimka and Rozdolivka.

Intense fighting continued near Kramatorsk – twelve enemy attempts to break through the defences were stopped near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In Toretsk, Russian troops used aircraft to support their 18 attacks near Pivnichne, Pivdenne, Toretsk and New York.

In Porkovsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 43 attacks in areas such as Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Yevhenivka, Kalynove, Novoselivka Persha, Yasnobrodivka and Karlivka, where the enemy used air support to try to “dislodge” Ukrainian units.

Kurakhove also saw renewed Russian attacks attempting to “break through the defences” near Netailove, Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostyantynivka, with eleven attempts thwarted.

In Vremivka, enemy forces launched ten attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Urozhaine.

Ukrainian units repelled five enemy attacks near Huliaipole, keeping the situation under control.

In Orikhiv, five clashes took place in the Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka areas of the Zaporizhzhya region.

In the Dnipro sector, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled an enemy attack on the left bank of the Dnipro and maintained control of positions.

The operational situation remains unchanged in the Volyn and Pollisya sectors, where the enemy has no offensive group formations.

The enemy maintains a presence in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, where it is conducting reconnaissance, shelling border towns and laying massive minefields along the border lines.

On October 6, the Administrative Cassation Court within the Supreme Court of Ukraine continued hearing case No. 990/80/25, in which the fifth President and leader of the party “European Solidarity”, Petro Poroshenko, seeks to have Presidential Decree No. 81/2025 from February 12, 2025 — enacting sanctions by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) — declared illegal and annulled. The plaintiff claims the document was falsified and that the sanctions are a tool of political persecution of the opposition, contrary to international norms. Government representatives deny the allegations and insist their actions were lawful. Journalists of Bukvy were present at the hearing.

Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest Group has completed the construction of an upgraded underground NATO Role 2 hospital in one of the hottest sectors of the frontline. This is the second stabilization point established under the Steel Front initiative in cooperation with the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new facility, funded by Metinvest with an investment of UAH 21 million, is more secure than the first one thanks to its deeper location underground (over 6 meters) and additional fortifications.

Five armored vehicles “Kozak” have received a new mission – thanks to the support of Metinvest, they have been upgraded to full-fledged command and staff vehicles. These upgraded vehicles are now operating on the front line.

A kamikaze drone flies directly toward an armored personnel carrier. But instead of penetrating the hull, it explodes on a steel screen. The crew survives.
