A decision by the command to “preserve personnel” was a primal reason behind Ukrainian troops’s withdrawal from Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. The news was confirmed by Nazar Voloshyn, “Khortytsia” Command spokesperson.
He stressed that Ukrainian troops had “relocated to other positions” after Russian shelling left the community completely ruined, which posed “significant risks” to the lives of soldiers.
According to Voloshyn, the Russian army has suffered substantial losses in its efforts to capture these devastated areas: “They have lost hundreds of soldiers, resulting in nothing but a ruined village surrounded by the bodies of Russian soldiers who will never return home.”
The Ukrainian forces “maintain control” over the situation in this sector despite the forced move, added the Khortytsia Command representative.
