Woman arrested in Mykolaiv for pinpointing Russian missile strike on Ochakiv

In Mykolaiv, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has arrested a Russian spy who allegedly assisted Russian troops in pinpointing their missile strikes on Ochakiv.

Recruited by pro-Russian fugitive blogger Sergei Lebedyev, the local woman gathered intelligence on military sites in Mykolaiv and its suburbs.

During a raid on her residence, the SBU discovered two mobile phones and a laptop that she had used to sent the gathered inforamtion to FSB.

The woman faces espionage charges under Article 114 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. If convicted, she could be sentenced to up to 12 years in prison.

Since February 2022, SBU operatives have uncovered at least twenty Ukrainians engaged in espionage activities across the country in support of Russian troops.
