“Russian troops will start to dig in in 4-6 weeks”, – Ukraine’s top general

Russia’s push will run out of gas soon making its troops shift to a defensive posture, said Ukraine’s National Guard commander Oleksandr Pivnenko.

He admitted the frontline situation is challenging, but the enemy’s mounting losses will factor in and affect their offensive capabilities.

‘I believe that in 4-6 weeks they will no longer be able to conduct active assaults on multiple fronts and will inevitably adopt a defensive stance,’ said Pivnenko, arguing it can give Ukraine’s troops enough time to redeploy.

‘During this time, we need to organize our units and prepare for the shift.’

The military chief said Ukrainian troops will need to look for ways to adopt, which is not an easy task.

“You can’t change everything overnight; systemic changes require time,’ he added.

Pivnenko remains confident Ukraine will get the job done.  ‘We need to advance continuously and keep thinking about the future. The most crucial aspects right now are preparation, enhancing training centers, acquiring weaponry, military equipment, and producing our own military technology, including drones, armored vehicles, and air defense systems,’ he concluded.”
