Ukraine’s police have arrested an alleged killer of Lviv scholar Iryna Farion,  said Volodymyr Zelensky in his statement on Thursday.

The 18-year-old suspect was arrested in Dnipro, over 940 kilmoters away from Lviv where the assissination took place.

Ukraine’s president gave credit to the law-enforcement team leading the investigation as “the operation to detain the  suspect was extremely complex,” and involved hundreds of professionals from the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and other special services.

“I am grateful to each and every person who contributed daily to piecing together the facts of this crime and bringing us closer to the full truth,” wrote Zelensky.

The arrest comes 5 days after an acclaimed scholar was shot while approaching her home in Lviv.
