Judge suspended over alleged kidnapping plot

Ukraine’s High Council of Justice said on Wednesday it has suspended a commercial court judge over his alleged role in a kidnapping attempt.
The judge whose name has not been revealed is now facing charges of kidnapping and organizing unlawful deprivation under Art. 15, 27, 146 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, was involved in “entrepreneurial activities” – a forbidden thing for the judiciary- which promted his conflict with his business parnter over the agricultural business they owned.
The judge was detained after the police found that he had plotted a scheme to kidnap the partner to seize the jointly owned agricultural equipment.
