Zelensky leads high-level meeting on Kursk incursion

On Monday, president Volodymyr Zelensky held a a meeting with Ukrainia military chiefs to discuss the latest developments on the frontlines days after Ukrainian troops stage a daring raid in Russia’s Kursk region.

During the meeting commander-in-dhief Oleksandr Syrskyi provided an update on Ukraine’s operations in the Kursk region.

In his first official statement on the situation,  Syrskyi said that  “Ukrainian troops control over 1,000 square kilometers in Kursk.” Zelensky gave credit to Ukrainian troops whose “resilience and decisive actions” helped Ukraine to seize the initiative on the battlefield.

Zelensky also asked Ukrainian diplomats to work a ‘list of actions’ that can help persuade the country’s allies to give their consent to Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons in Russia’s border regions.
