56 attacks repelled near Pokovsk over last 24 hours

The Ukrainian General Staff has reported an intense situation on the frontlines as of 10 pmon August 26, with fighting intensifying across several regions. According to the latest updates, Ukrainian forces have faced 148 combat engagements throughout the day.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces launched an assault near Vovchansk, but Ukrainian defense units successfully repelled the attack. Preliminary reports indicate that the enemy has suffered 62 casualties, including both dead and wounded, along with the destruction of a tank, an armored combat vehicle, two artillery systems, and three vehicles. Additionally, Ukrainian forces damaged a tank, four artillery systems, and eight vehicles belonging to the enemy.
The Kupiansk sector saw Ukrainian forces fend off 14 enemy attacks near Novoosynove, Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, and Andriivka. Meanwhile, the Lyman sector experienced 18 attacks from the enemy attempting to advance towards Makiyivka, Hrekivka, Druzhlyubivka, Nevske, Novosadove, and Torske, all of which were repelled.
On the Siversk front, Ukrainian defenders thwarted seven enemy assaults in the areas of Spyrne, Verkhnokamyanskyi, and Viyimka. Intense fighting continues near Viyimka as Ukrainian forces valiantly hold their positions.
In the Kramatorsk area, Russian attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar failed on four occasions. The Toretsk sector remains tense, with the enemy making 11 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses, supported by airstrikes. The attack in the village of New York area is ongoing.
The situation is particularly tense in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian units have repelled 56 offensive and assault actions from the enemy since the beginning of the day. Fighting continues in six engagements. Ukrainian forces are actively defending their positions, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Preliminary estimates suggest that the enemy has sustained nearly 200 casualties, both dead and wounded, and lost at least two artillery systems, two mortars, and three vehicles. Additionally, one artillery system and four vehicles were damaged.
In the Kurakhove sector, 14 combat encounters have been reported so far today. The enemy remains active, attempting to advance in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka, and Kostyantynivka. Ukrainian forces have repelled 12 attacks, with four engagements still ongoing near Karlivka and Nevelske.
The Vremivka sector has also been heavily contested, with 20 combat encounters reported near Vodiane and Vuhledar. Four attacks near Prechystivka are still underway.
On the Dnipro front, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled three enemy attempts to attack positions in the river island zone, with no enemy success reported.
Elsewhere, enemy forces did not conduct offensive actions. The General Staff also praised the 46th Separate Airborne Brigade for their “resolute defense of positions and significant infliction of losses on the enemy.”
