Ukraine’s chief commander comments impact of Kursk raid on Pokrovsk front situation

In his speech at “Ukraine 2024 Independence” forum on Tuesday, Ukraine’s chief commander Oleksandr Syrskyi opened up on Ukraine’s true motives behind the raid in Russia’s Kursk region.

The general admitted that the primary objective of the Kursk incursion was to divert Russian troops from other areas of the front, particularly from the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove areas where Ukraine is dealing with the most intense pressure.

The Russian troops though didn’t take the bait and are still pushing to Pokrovsk using their “most capable” units there.

Accroding to reports, some 30,000 Russian troops have been deployed to bolster their defenses in the Kursk region with thet continues to grow.

“Our soldiers are fully committed to ensuring the safety of civilians. Intense fighting continues daily in this area, which is a focal point for us. We are concentrating our main forces and resources here to protect our civilian population,” stressed the commander-in-chief.
