Kryvyi Rih was once again the target of a Russian missile attack on the morning of August 28, with blasts reported in the city around 10:45 am. The attack followed a warning of a potential ballistic missile threat from the east.

According to Oleksandr Vilkul, the missile struck a civilian infrastructure facility, leaving the city reeling from yet another brutal assault. “Ambulances have already taken four people to the hospital. All emergency and utility services are actively responding,” Vilkul said.

The regional governor Serhiy Lysak provided more details, confirming that five people were injured in the strike. Among the victims are four men aged 29, 41, 44, and 60 – all of them have been hospitalized. A 54-year-old woman sustained injuries but will receive treatment at home.

“Kryvyi Rih is once again under attack while the city mourns. The enemy continues to target civilians. Infrastructure and vehicles in the city have been damaged, and there was also a fire,” Lysak wrote.

This attack comes on the heels of another tragic incident on the night of August 27, when Russian forces struck a hotel in Kryvyi Rih, killing a Reuters reporter from Great Britain.
