4 nuclear reactor units shut down after Russian attack on August 26

A large-scale Russian attack that came on August 26 made Ukraine shut down four reactor units at two of its nuclear power plants, the Rivne and South Ukraine Nuclear Power Stations.
At 08:58, three units at the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant—Units 1, 3, and 4—were disconnected from the grid. Shortly thereafter, at 09:05, the power output of the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant’s units decreased to 1800 MW.
Later in the day, at 17:10, the third unit of the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant was also disconnected due to fluctuations in the country’s power grid.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Ukraine’s Permanent Mission to International Organizations in Vienna warned that the Russian attacks pose a significant risk to the stable operation of nuclear facilities in Ukraine and endanger the safety of millions of people.

Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest Group has completed the construction of an upgraded underground NATO Role 2 hospital in one of the hottest sectors of the frontline.
