Zelensky arrives in Germany for ‘Ramstein’ meeting

On Friday, Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Germany for a meeting of Ukraine Contact Group in Ramstein, which brings together Ukraine and its allies aiding in the war against Russia.

In his statement, Zelensky called for decisive action from the country’s partners. “We require the resolve of our allies and the means to halt the Russian air terror. The weaponry from the announced support packages must be delivered to combat brigades without further delay. We also need robust, long-range solutions from our partners to bring closer the just peace we are striving for,” he declared.

During his visit, Zelensky is scheduled to meet with U.S. secretary of defense Lloyd Austin and German defense minister Boris Pistorius.  He will also hold talks with German chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Following the Ramstein meeting,  Zelensky will attend the Ambrosetti Economic Forum in Italy, where he will mee with Italian business leaders and the country’s prime minister Giorgia Meloni.
