447 chemical attacks launched by Russian against Ukraine in August

Russian forces launched 447 chemical attacks against Ukrainian defense troops throughout August, according to a statement from Ukraine’s Armed Forces Support Command on Facebook. Since February 15, 2023, the total number of such attacks has reached 4,035 as of August 24, 2024.

The reported chemical assaults include the use of prohibited munitions like K-51 and RG-VO, which are banned under international agreements for use in armed conflicts. Ukrainian forces have also detected the deployment of unidentified chemical compounds during these attacks.
