Overnight on September 10, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying nearly 50 drones and several missiles. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ukraine Air Force said they  intercepted the majority of these aerial threats.

According to the estimates, the attack involved:

  • An Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from Russian-occupied Crimea
  • An Kh-31P anti-radar missile fired from over the Black Sea
  • 46 Shahed-type attack drones launched from Kursk and Yeisk (Russia)

Ukrainian defenders shot down 38 of the attack drones. Three drones soon left Ukraine’s airspace—two went back to Russia, and one headed towards Russian-occupied Luhansk. Additionally, three drones were lost due to electronic warfare systems.

Ukraine’s defense forces deployed aviation units, anti-aircraft missile systems, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare (EW) units to counter the attack.

The drones were intercepted across multiple regions, including Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Cherkasy, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava.
