Ukraine has brought back six children from occupied territories in Ukraine, including areas in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Crimea. Among the rescued was a 17-year-old boy who feared conscription into the Russian army, according to Save Ukraine’s Mykola Kuleba.

The teen described the stories of Russian-led educators taking children to pay respects to WW2 cites and telling stories about the Red army’s “defense” against Nazis. The young man said he had tried to stay away from such schooling.

His journey out of the occupied territory wasn’t easy either At the border, FSB agents subjected him and his companions to intense pressure, accusing them of espionage and threatening to send them back.  The stressed out boy though managed to return to Ukraine .

This rescue marks yet another success for the campaign led by Save Ukraine founder Mykola Kuleba who helped return 487 children to Ukraine.
