Russian spy caught in Kharkiv pinpointing guided bomb strikes

The Security Service of Ukraine, SBU, said on Thusday it has arrested a Russian spy who helped pinpoint Russian attack on  Ukrainian military positions in Kharkiv. The saboteur spied on the makeshift Defense Forces bases used for combat operations in the Kharkiv region.

Russian intelligence allegedly reached out ot the 42-year-old Kharkiv resident after thye found he was expressing his pro-Russian sentiment on social media.  They eventually recruited him to spy on Ukrainian troops. The man used Google Maps to record the positions and send geo tags to his Russian handlers.

The SBU caught him red-handed and seized his mobile phone, which was used for transmitting intelligence information.

The man now faces treason charges that can send him to prison for life and see his property confiscated.
