On Friday, Russian forces shelled Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region, leaving five residents injured.  Head of the town military administration, Serhii Horbunov, said no children were hurt.

In a somber update, the official revealed that two of the injured had to undergo amputations. “One lost a foot, the other a hand. Both are in stable condition and receiving treatment at the hospital,” he said, adding that the injuries sustained by other three people were not so severe.

The shelling that started around 9:50 am involved five direct hits from heavy artillery, Horbunov reported.

The attack caused widespread damage across the town. Private homes took the brunt of the assault, while shrapnel damaged several apartment building facades, trade pavilions, power lines, a gas pipeline, and multiple vehicles.
