Casualties rise to 31 after bombs strike apartment building in Kharkiv

A devastating attack rocked Kharkiv on the afternoon of September 24, when Russian guided bombs targeted the city districts Kyivskyi, Saltivskyi, Nemyshlyanskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi. According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service at least 31 civilians have been injured, and three people lost their lives. One of the strikes saw several floors of an apartment building collapse.
Rescue teams continue to search the affected areas, and the number of casualties is still being updated. About 50 firefighters and 10 units of equipment have been deployed to manage the aftermath.
Firefighters are actively working to extinguish blazes across the city.
Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov also reported that one person died, and eight others were injured after another guided bomb targeted a civilian bakery in the city.
