Ukraine to produce 1.5 million drones by year-end – PM Denys Shmyhal

Ukrainian prime minister Denys Shmyhal revealed on Tuesday that the country will produce 1.5 million drones by the end of this year.

The campaing will be replete with a project that will introduce certified drone operator schools across the country. rone operators that.  Shmyhal said,

“We are setting clear standards for these schools and unifying the training process. Trained drone operators will find it easier to obtain the relevant military specialty”.

According to the prime mininster, Ukraine is partnering with international allies to establish joint production ventures and secure funding for the purchase of Ukrainian-made weapons.

“In 2023, weapons production in Ukraine tripled. Every second piece of ammunition in the combat zone is Ukrainian-made,” Shmyhal stressed.

Looking ahead, the government has earmarked at least 2.2 trillion hryvnias (26% of GDP) for the defense and security sectors in next year’s budget.
