A car explosion on October 4, 2024, in Enerhodar targeted Andrii Korotkyi, a local collaborator who worked as a security chief at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

Korotkyi was notorious for his role in intimidation campaign against the city residents with a pro-Ukrainian sentiment. After the city  fell under Russian control, he collaborated with the occupiers, providing them with lists of pro-Ukrainian employees of the nuclear power plant.

He also took part in other war crimes against civilians, and, as a member of the “United Russia” party,  led the Russian-led “Council of Deputies” in Enerhodar.
