Russian troops just 7 kilometers from Pokrovsk – city officials

As of October 4, Russian troops are “just 7 kilometers” from the outskirts of Pokrovsk, according to local authorities. The town faces relenless shelling that  have already damaged or destroyed “around 80% of the city’s critical infrastructure”.

“There were two attacks yestereda, with six KAB guided bombs. At 10:30 am, they hit the city center, leaving four people injured—two after the first strike. At 11:00 pm, there were three more KAB bombs dropped, causing additional casualties. The attacks are targeting civilian and critical infrastructure, most of which is now either 80% damaged or destroyed. The enemy is cutting us off from electricity, water, and gas, preparing us for winter,” said Serhii Dobriak, head of the city’s military administration.

Despite the intense shelling, some residents chose to stay in Pokrovsk.

“Currently, 13,050 people are still in the city, including 94 children. I want to thank all those who heeded the call to evacuate. Just a month and a half ago, there were 48,000 residents and almost 5,900 children in the city. So, we can see the trend, but evacuations are ongoing,” added Dobriak.
