Ukrainian authorities are stepping up evacuation efforts in the Kupiansk district after Russian troops have intensified the bombardments of this Kharkiv community,  according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

He said  that recent days have seen a sharp rise in shelling from various types of weapons, putting local residents in serious danger. More than 4,000 people still live in the Kupiansk community, most of them elderly, and they face growing risks.

“It’s vital for everyone to recognize the need to move to safer areas. We must work together to ensure their safety,” Syniehubov urged.

Authorities said they have prepared all necessary support for evacuees, including housing, hot meals, food and hygiene kits, warm clothing, and guidance through the evacuation process.
