The situation on the front remains volatile, with 134 combat clashes reported across the frontline on October 21, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
Russian troops launched two missile strikes and 82 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas, including 136 guided bombs. In total, over 4,000 artillery attacks were carried out, with 154 rocket salvoes among them.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces responded with nine airstrikes targeting concentrations of Russian personnel and equipment, and successfully hit two bridges.
Regional Battles:
- Kharkiv Sector: Russian forces continued their assaults, engaging in three clashes near the villages of Lyptsi and Vovchansk.
- Kupiansk Sector: Ukrainian troops repelled five Russian assaults near Petropavlivka, Zelenyi Hai, Vyshneve, and Lozova.
- Lyman Sector: The fiercest fighting took place in this area, with 14 Russian attacks around Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Makiivka, Torske, and Terny.
- Siversk Sector: Enemy bombings included three assaults on Verkhnokamyanske, Pereizne, and Bilohorivka.
- Kramatorsk Sector: Russian forces used air support to attack Chasiv Yar but Ukrainian forces kept the situation under control.
- Toretsk Sector: Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attacks near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.
- Pokrovsk Sector: Ukrainian defenders thwarted 46 Russian offensives near Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, and several other locations. The situation saw Russian forces using extensively its air support.
- Kurakhiv Sector: Ukrainian forces repelled 26 attacks near Hirnyk, Novodmytrivka, Maksymilianivka, and other areas.
- Vremivka Sector: Russian forces launched 12 attacks in the areas near Bohoyavlenka, Novoukrainka, and Zolote.
- Orikhiv Sector: Ukrainian positions near Mala Tokmachka came under attack.
- Dnipro Sector: Four enemy assaults were repelled with no success for the invaders.
While no signs of new Russian offensives have emerged in the Volyn or Polissia sectors, along the borders with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian artillery and airstrikes continue to target Ukrainian towns from Russian territory.
