No exemptions for conscripts in over-50 age group – Volyn recruitment officials

On Thursday, Volyn recruitment officials offered their clarification on the mobilization of men aged 50 to 60 after earlier reports claimed the mobilization campaign could count this group out.

In its statement, the Volyn recruitment center said that all men between 18 and 60 years old are considered liable for military service and can be called upon during mobilization efforts. They though indirectly admitted there is an updated directive that outlines the procedure for mobilizing this age group, but it is “for official use only”.

The clarification assumes that exemptions work only for men who have health-related or legal issues. Volyn officials insisted that mobilizing men aged 50 to 60 is “lawful and fully compliant with current legislation”.
