Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed on Friday that Russia plans to quietly deploy North Korean troops in active combat zones by “October 27-28”.  He shared the alarming news on social media after a briefing with Commander-in-Chief  Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“According to intelligence, the first North Korean soldiers will enter combat areas under Russian command on October 27–28. This marks a clear escalation by Russia, and it stands in sharp contrast to the disinformation coming out of Kazan this week,” Zelensky stated.

The Ukrainian leader called on the global community to respond decisively to North Korean forces’ joining the conflict.

“The world can now see Russia’s intentions more clearly: a determination to prolong the war. It’s essential that world leaders respond with strength and principle. North Korea’s direct involvement calls for more than mere statements; it demands real pressure on both Moscow and Pyongyang to uphold the UN Charter and to face consequences for this escalation,”  said Zelensky.
