Death toll rises to 2 after a Russian guided bomb hits Kharkiv

The death toll in Kharkiv has risen to two after a Russian airstrike targeted an apartment building in Kharkiv. Emergency service said its rescue teams recovered one more dead body under the rubble.

“The identity will be established through forensic examination. This brings the death count to two,” wrote Kharkiv regional governor Syniehubov.

The first victim, an 11-year-old boy, was found with severe head injuries and fractures. Despite over 30 minutes of resuscitation efforts, medical personnel could not save him.

The number of injured now stands at 34. A section of a nine-story apartment building collapsed moments after a Russian guided bomb attack targeted the Saltivskyi district.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the collapse of floors, adding that some people could still be trapped under the debris.
