Ukraine’s government brings back quality controls for drug manufacturers

The Ukrainian government will bring back controls over of production, sale and quality of medicines starting January 1, 2025.

On Tuesday, the government said it has updated Resolution No. 303 that suspended such oversight after Ukraine rolled out martial law in March 2022.

The updated regulations will resume regular inspections of the manufacturing facilities for quality control, and monitor production of cultivators of plants that contain narcotic or psychotropic substances and precursors.

Additionally, oversight will return for the development, production, storage, transportation, acquisition, use, and disposal of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors.

The government will also resume inspections to check for compliance with licensing standards for manufacturing, wholesale, and retail sale, and import of medicinal products (excluding active pharmaceutical ingredients) that was put into effect by Resolution No. 929 in November 30, 2016.
