1 killed, 9 injured after overnight drone attack on Odesa

One person was killed and nine more injured after Odesa came under the attack of a swarm of Russian drones in the early hours Friday, according to regional governor Oleh Kiper and Ukraine’s State Emergency Service . The assault caused massive destruction across the city.

The attack began late on November 7, with waves of drones targeting residential and public areas throughout Odesa and the surrounding district. Local authorities described the strike as intense and large-scale.

Russian drones damaged multiple private residences in Odesa, sparking fires in several locations. One of the city’s educational institutions also suffered significant damage, with windows shattered and its facade severely hit. Fragments from the explosions ruptured two gas pipelines, causing leaks and subsequent fires. Windows shattered across multiple buildings in the area, adding to the destruction.

Initial reports indicated two injuries. By morning, however, emergency services confirmed the tragic death of one individual, with nine others injured in the attack.
